The road to serenity is rocky, rutted and rough...to the reasoning mind's eye. Ah, but the rocky road to serenity is the only road there is.
We waste our time, our energy, our inner resources looking for a shorter, less painful way. The trouble is, we find that shorter way fairly easily only it leads right off the cliff...away from God deeper into self.
We learn...and then spend the rest of our time on this earth relearning: Go to God for God and that is all.
God's will, God's way. Empty our head and our heart of all else but our open invitation to God to do with me, build of me as Thou wilt, Thy will, not mine, be done.
Ah, serenity.
