ON HEARING FROM GOD

The following is lifted in part from spoken word poet Amena Brown's response to the question, “How do you know when you’re hearing from God?”:

...sometimes the best thing we can do is put our hands in the middle of our chest
Feel the rhythm there
Turn down the noise in our minds, in our lives
And whisper,
God
Whatever you want to say
I’m here
I’m listening

To me, the most important words in that excerpt are: Turn down the noise in our minds.

Lesson learned early, and that we relearn and relearn and relearn...the noise in our minds is our ego justifying our separation from God.

A large part of our problem is our belief that we hear the lesson and believe that in the hearing we have learned...no.

The inner-eye opener is we gotta do it wrong to get it right! Our ego justifying our separation from God is doing it wrong...that's what turns us back to God...ah, doing it right.

Nothing is wasted, there is no wrong that God hasn't already righted...there is no right that ego won't lay claim to, thus get wrong...for God to right. Whoa...getting all up in my head here.

But when it's true, it's true.😊

Thank you.
