According to me, the difference between knowing better and doing better is when we only know it, we tend to talk it...telling others how to. That's how we fool our self in believing that we "have" it.
The big reveal comes when we accept that as a necessary step for most of us. It is that acceptance that allows us to move on. Denial of our foolishness keeps us tied to our foolishness.

Our doing better is of God and largely depends on our own faith in God. We learn that God makes the crooked places straight, so on silent faith we walk toward our personal and dreaded crooked places. Here comes the paradox...we realize only as we look back that there were none, those crooked places we dreaded, denied and delayed, gone.
It is in our very trudging the road, when we meet, deal, move on, that God acts...through us, for us, with us, as us.
