Recently, an unthinking, unbidden image runs in my mind when and as it chooses: I am in a place of natural danger...a horrific flood or mudslide or hurricane is coming or is here...I come upon an animal who is quivering in fear, and I pick him up and cuddle her inside my jacket and carry it with me, assuring her all is well, I will protect him. End of image.
Blinding flash of the obvious: It is I who is the little one in need of love...I who seeks protection.
That resonates with unwanted truth...what if I am the one who needs love? Who needs cuddling...who needs protection from the elements, natural and/or manmade? What if I am the little animal, lost, alone, scared and looking to and for love?
Immediate BFO: I Am that I am.
Oh, joy!! I see. I know.
It is for this, danger natural or manmade, that I Am with you, within/without, ever present, your protection in time of need. For this, I speak to you...for this, you know and you show, you hold dear and you pass on: Peace, be still. For I Am that I am.
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. -- Mark 4:39
Thank you.
