When our world feels at sixes and sevens in our heart, go to Romans 5:20 - "Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more...."
Romans 5:20 is one of my handy-dandy go-to phrases...I'm just now recognizing that I use it least of all my handy-dandys. Proof that how often spiritual aids are used has less importance than the fact that we have them to use...and do.
This is one of those times when the world seems at sixes and sevens, i.e., when fear is strutting its stuff, leading the parade, twirling its baton of fire. Our friends, the newspaper headlines, the TV news shows, our thoughts, are squawking some version of "Fire!" "Run for your life!" "There is no hope!"
Ah, we turn within and know peace. Peace in the fact that this panic is based on future garbage..."bad things" are happening...or seem to be...or probably will be...soon.
Yet, right this very instant, nothing has changed..nothing on the ground we stand on, for the place where you stand is holy ground.(Acts 7:33). We turn our heart, our soul, our body, our brains...and especially our thoughts...over to the Father within. We pray our thank you, remembering where trouble increased, grace abounded all the more.
Thank you for our everything just as it is right this very minute. You hold the universe in your love, and all is well.
Thank you.
