I ponder this morning, He goes before us to make the crooked places straight. What is so easily missed there is the promise that there will be crooked places.
Just to repeat that sentence with no attempt to prove it for ourself spiritually is the reasoning mind in charge. No spiritual effort leads to wishful thinking and results in feelings of God Schmod...or, alone again naturally.
Our spiritual effort begins with acceptance of not knowing, of unknowing, as a favorite in God's toolbox.
The cloud of unknowing is the place of faith in almighty goodness abounding for our benefit.
Doesn't it follow then that not knowing what is around the next curve in the crooked road is where faith hangs out? We build our faith by holding our nose and taking that leap of faith...up into the cloud of unknowing.
Even better is: If it doesn't make a lick of sense, we know we're on the right road heading in the right direction. Or maybe that's just my reasoning mind wanting to have a say.
What is true is we are building the faith essential to opening the door upon which God knocks. We are being invited to walk out with God and be enveloped in loving kindness, peace, love and joy. All ours to give away in order to keep it.
