Passing thoughts: What if death were simply a change of consciousness...and that is all? With reincarnation naturally following as another change of consciousness. What about illness? If a raised consciousness removes the appearance of illness, would that explain how the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf hear?
Are we in charge of raising our consciousness? Through the Power within? It seems unlikely that consciousness can be raised solely by thinking on it...thinking on it just give us more to think on. However, our journey usually begins with a thought...sometimes a blinding flash of the obvious, sometimes the Word overheard and later realized, ofttimes a passing what if?
According to me, the inborn rational mind is our fallback, and our intuitive mind we come to...per Rohr, usually through great love or great suffering.
It seems likely that living by the intellect alone would preclude spiritual insight...or make it suspect, more like. But living...or attempting to live...by spiritual intuition doesn't negate intellectual understanding.
We'd be kidding our self to believe it is possible to live solely by one or the other. We do, after all, live in a reasoning mind world...which may be why the Pope still needs confession. His reasoning mind.
It is comforting to me to put these unanswerable questions out there in the ether. God will fill in the blanks as and when and if needed.
