Oh, what a blessing that is, that quote from Rohr. It clarifies that there is nothing inherently wrong with feeling like we've been chosen, the error is thinking...speaking...of our self as chosen.
Talk alone is to "cast our pearls before swine" which not only begs others to challenge with put downs, snarks and misquotes, but invites our ego to the fray...to bray.
According to me, if the Lord isn't saying it, it is not true. The Lord says it through our walk, not our talk, and our walk shows forth primarily through our care and concern for others since our Father knows our needs.
It is in the reverent silence that we feel acknowledged as chosen, and that births our new and necessary care and concern for others.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but as Rohr wrote: Almost always, in fact, those chosen are quite flawed or at least ordinary people.
Can I get an Amen!
Thank you.
