LIVE LIFE ABOVE THE FRAY...AGREE

Just because s/he's wrong doesn't mean I'm right. -- blinding flash of the obvious, redux

Nothing turns us from our own hurt, anger, resentment faster than that little BFO. Nothing heads us toward taking responsibility for those feelings faster than that little BFO. Which no doubt explains why that little BFO is so hard to remember. 

We don't want to.

That we each accept full responsibility for our own feelings...hurt, anger, resentment, et al...is almost a how-to manual for living life above the fray...or close enough. 

We have learned that it is not what happens to us, it is how we react to it that determines our mood, our attitude...our life. 

There's a boatload of difference, however, in learning materially and doing spiritually. Learning means we understand what the words mean...doing requires the action dictated by the words. As in, give up our justified hurt, give up our justified anger, give up our justified resentment. In fact, doing requires us to give over to the other...give over in kindness by not reacting in kind.

Agree with your adversary quickly. There. That's living life above the fray.
