Fr Richard Rohr's "Daily Meditation" today, September 21, 2020, has it that authentic God experience always expands your seeing and never constricts it.
How does this compare to Meister Eckart's the spiritual life is more about subtraction than it is addition.
Is this another paradox?
My understanding today, subject to revision tomorrow: Authentic God experience is to realize God is everything. We resist not...anything.
We must withdraw, subtract, our material mind's desire to cast out its perception of evil, i.e., all it disagrees with, to allow the entry, expansion, of spiritual understanding that there is and can be naught to disagree with.
Rohr's expansion of spiritual sight constricts material sight; Eckhart's subtraction of material sight renders needless the addition of still more material sight...and spiritual light enters.
According to me.
Thank you.
