SOUL TRUTH AND PROVING IT

God and the human person must know one another center to center, subject to subject, and never subject to object. This is why there is no seeking of power over in the Trinity, but only power with—a giving away, a sharing, a letting go, and thus an infinity of trust and mutuality. -- Fr Richard Rohr, "Daily Meditation," May 5, 2020

Eureka! Rohr's paragraph clarifies my long-ago BFO...the answer, no matter the question, is give over, give up, give in.

I have accepted that as Truth, have tried to prove it, have had wee successes and have failed a lot. However, I still believe it and still aim toward proving it daily because my Soul knows it for Truth.

It is apparent to me that proving it is dicey because it cannot be done as long as the reasoning or egoic mind is in on it. And denying a voice to that mind births the problem... how to deny when our goal is to give over, give up, give in? Ah...and that is the egoic mind's gotcha/ Its I win, you lose strategy.

The solution? Stop relying on the reasoning mind. Go beyond reason. How often do we hear that whispered in our upper ear? Go beyond reason to love is to go beyond reason to God, to still more spiritual growth, to loose it [i.e., our self-determined objective] and let it go.

I wonder if any of God's Truths can be proved solely by the reasoning mind. Probably not...but I have to suppose we must reach agreement...our reasoning mind with God's Truths. We must if we're ever going to have a faith we can lean on, trust, believe...else what is faith for?

The rub is that we can only come to agreement after we've been led to realization, after Truth has been proved in our own life. Face it, agreeing before is just  words...faith without works is fantasy.

Thank you.
