Humility, like patience, isn't something we get by praying for it...we are born with all there is, resting right there in our center from birth. Our journey, our lifelong journey, is loosing it and letting it go...as in, all we need do is use it. Another saying that's easier said than done...but what one isn't?
The hard lesson to learn is that saying doesn't count unless and until we're doing.
That's the stranglehold on much self-described "spiritual growth." It is not all that easy to "get" the inner meaning of the likes of "resist not evil" or "go beyond reason to love." When we do get our understanding, we often believe that in the getting, we are qualified to teach it now. No. We are qualified to live it now.
The proof that the Father within does the works is how well we live those works.
Spiritual growth is not our talking up what we've received, it's others passing on to others what they have received from our spiritual growth...without our ever needing to know about it.
....Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. -- Matt 5:16
Thank you.
