We believe we are willing to let go of our attachment to the old self. We mentally hold our nose and take a leap of faith to prove our freedom from self. Again. And yet again.
Comes the Big Uh-Oh: What exactly is it that we are letting go of? We've already made peace with our past, made our direct amends, forgiven and been forgiven...what is this block we are feeling? This feeling that our skin's on crooked...something ain't right...there's a bad moon rising.
Guess what...that is God's job. He knows our doubts and fears, and they have already been resolved, hugged, kissed and set free. He has already fixed it. Our job is to believe that by inviting that inner knowledge out into our life.
We sit in the silence and contemplate the Lord and the ways of the Lord, and God loves me because God is love and cannot not love me, and I hope that is truth, and what am I going to wear to the Memorial Service this morning, and does that thought mean I have to start all over, and....
All that is when we're doing it right.
We are making ourself available. That's it. That is our journey heading us in the right direction with peace of mind our carrot and God our goal.
We rest in the quiet word: God is not available on demand. By our belief, God is available.
