Pondering that, we can understand if our positive thoughts are true, we need not endlessly affirm them. It would seem that an affirmation repeated endlessly could well be fear in disguise, concreting itself. To know a truth is to live it without having to constantly assure our self of its truth.
As a for-instance: I am a beloved child of God is truth, but until we realize it, it is a hope. Affirming it endlessly is probably fear that only I am not a beloved child of God.
Equally important, with regard to our inner truth, is the fact that we must needs tell no one (Tell no man. -- Matthew 8:2-4). Face it, if we "got" it, there are no words to tell it. Those who are ready will see it in us...those who are not ready will form their own opinions. Let them. Let it be.
Plain words: We won't need to tell others, they will tell us. If they don't, chances are we ain't "got" it...yet. Or they're not ready...yet. Either way, our words will just muddle it.
And then I read today's "Daily Meditation" by Fr Richard Rohr, The only salvation worthy of the name is a gradual realization of who we are already in this world—and always have been—and will be eternally.
Thank you.
