Matter and Spirit must be found to be inseparable in Christ. -- probably from Fr Richard Rohr
A morning prayer of mine has the line take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Your love, Your power and Your way of life.
It's another awakening when we realize that the Lord does not take away our difficulties. No. They are transmuted by our willing efforts and his love into love and laughter. Ah, love and laughter...God's gifts realized as we give up taking our self too seriously. That begins to happen as we learn to live the inseparable-ness of Matter and Spirit within us...birthed by our decision to turn our very self over to the care of God.
It is with that decision that we receive the surety that he knows our needs, can and will come to our aid before we know we need his aid, intervene in our life in our behalf. In short, we realize there are no difficulties, there is only the invisible, mysterious love and grace of God.
The rest of our life if we live to be 120 is spent forgetting that...remembering, thanking God for remembering, and loving and laughing at it and us.
Thank you.
