WE DETERMINE THE LENGTH OF OUR PAIN

Two thoughts this morning:
  1. Anger is personal victim thinking.
  2. It is not change that we resist...it is the transition.
It is my belief that anger, stemming from fear, makes victims of us all. Anger masks the fear of a change we realize we must make. It always justifies our resistance.

It is the transitional period between the realization of the change we must make and the resultant change when the victim does our thinking for us. This is the crash-and-burn stage.

During this stage, we are moving toward the change; we are resisting, but we are moving forward. It is that resistance that brings the tears, the attempts to halt, stall, and/or alter the necessary change. Our resistance determines the length of time the transitional period (our pain) lasts.

Once we accept the change that has already been made, we adjust, adapt to the new, move on...and quite often find the change we resisted has brought our most desired wish-come-true.

Thank You.
