Suffering, Fr. Richard Rohr contends, is whenever we
are not in control…which makes sense to me. What we must
accept, however, if we are ever to experience ego reduction
in depth, is that putting another's needs before our wants is loss of
control, resulting in our feeling as if we are suffering.
The kicker is that we just need more concrete practice. Words are just that, words...signifying nothing until we put the words into practice. Daily.
In short, ego reduction in depth begins today with the willingness to put another's needs before our wants...and ends three days after we're dead.
