There is an intelligence within that is above the reasoning mind...it is all good, always available. -- my blinding flash of the obvious as noted September 23, 2013
I feel deeply moved by the phrase in The Cloud if by grace you can make love your own, do. Specifically, if by grace you can, do.
Isn't that the quiet word for all our wants, hopes, dreams?...if by grace you can, do. The how-to falls within another simple sentence: We must try with a will or fall by the wayside (also author anonymous).
Most importantly, we must try with a will to remember that there really is an intelligence within above the reasoning mind...all good, always available...that doeth the works.
We avail ourself of change with our thank you. We live the turn within to that Higher Power on awakening and as we walk through our day and as we are falling asleep at night with that free-floating thank you going before us to make the crooked places straight.
There's where our reasoning mind is our friend...our ego will resist (our attention is not on it), but our reasoning mind, once disciplined like a well-trained dog, takes us back to thank you.
God is not available on demand, he is simply available. It is our own self we must make available to God, to God's love.
God’s very nature makes love endless and miraculous. It matters not that we may only know this from our eyebrows up as long as we are willing to go beyond reason to that love. (I am reminded of Saul on the road to Damascus...apparently grace is not dependent on our willingness. But I'm fairly certain it helps.)
Thank you.
