Whatever comes to us, a bald-faced lie to our eyes or an overheard gift of gossip gold, it is how we receive it, or do not receive it, that determines whether we advance in our spiritual lessons learned.
An incoming bald-faced lie is clearly not ours, but it takes spiritual processing not to give it a home in our mind...to play over and over, thereby nurturing it, naming it, calling it our own. A resentment is aborning.
The word to remember is "others." We do what we do, we react as we react, for the benefit of others, meaning we depersonalize before our reasoning mind can get a crack at it. We love and laugh...and pray our thank you...silently.
An overheard gift of gossip gold is another clearly not ours. It may be a confidence shared with another that we inadvertently overheard; it may be a mere perception of another that we flash on and see for truth...whatever, we so want to share it...shout it...for this is ego's gold. A rue, regret, remorse, is aborning.
