Blinding flash of the obvious: To seek self-acceptance is to deny Self acceptance.
When we are stayed in the study of self, thinking we are seeking still more spiritual growth, we are living for the benefit of self.
One of the first things we hear (and ignore) when we begin our spiritual journey is, We go to God for God and that is all. Ah, but it appears to be one of the last things our inner ear hears (and welcomes).
As we begin our growth deeper into the spiritual, the need for self-acceptance is often nattering in our ear. Actually, lack of self-acceptance is the word ego is preaching. Nothing seems to attract us like our belief that we need to study our self more. Self-examination is necessary...our material mind is not our enemy, it's just not the power we want it to be.
According to me, fear lives in the egoic mind which tells our reasoning mind that we must shuck fear. No. Accepting that nothing turns us to God faster than fear, we hug it, we kiss it...we resist it not.
The big reveal is that our spiritual need will lead us aright...our material mind will follow, our egoic mind will resist, and we pray thank you for our unselfed ear.
